Vintage 1950 Magnecord PT-6 Microphone Pre-Amp
These vintage pre-amps were primarily used in radio and broadcast settings, and were one of the top brands and manufacturers in the 1950s. This model series was known for its pre-amps that could be used with a microphone for compression, or even be used on the master bus of a console. There's some magic sauce in this unit, and tone that can only be achieved from era-specific amplifiers like these!
This one has had a full replacement of it’s electrolytic and coupling caps. The circuit otherwise is stock. It has a fairly hot output so I would suggest modding for attenuation or adding an attenuator at the output of it. The output signal runs through it’s 6L6 output stage and can be blended with the internal speaker. Folks also use these as great guitar amps.
